Three new stores are set to open in town

Despite more rumors that Domino's Pizza is not coming in to town, after a talk with Economic Development Director Helen Ozier at Hohenwald City Hall, she confirmed that "Yes, Domino's Pizza is coming to town." Work on the new business is slated to start within the month at the empty shop space next to Dollar Tree. To the right of Miguel Ramos and his partner Iram Garcia's successful Mexican restaurant, Casa Grandem is a new sign saying Michoacan A Pedir De Boca Ice Cream Shop.

Future Dollar Store location

Miguel (Michael) explained that while the brand was not that well known in the United States, it was one of the most successful ice cream stores in Mexico. He stated, "I was surprised when I visited Nashville one day to see one of the stores there. After inquiring, I found that there were in fact four more of the stores in Nashville plus many more across the U.S. So I asked the franchise about it, and if it were possible to have a store in Hohenwald and they said yes, so my partner Iram and I got together and arranged the lease for us here in Hohenwald. It is wonderful ice cream as everyone who visits will find out."

Another store adding to what we already have will be a new Dollar General. The new store has broken ground at the start of Highway 20 near Nick and Bubba's convenience store. The current Dollar General store, located on East Main Street, will remain open. As can be seen from the pictures, concrete foundations and parking are already down, and the actual erection of the building will start shortly.
