Girl Scouts learn about Mardi Gras

Girl Scout Troops 1521 and 3033 learned the reason for Mardi Gras, a festive day celebrated in France and New Orleans, Louisiana on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday that mark's the close of the pre-Lent season. Lent ends at Easter Sunday. Fat Tuesday is the custom of using all fats in your home before Lent in preparation for fasting and abstinence. There are parades and floats throwing beads and coins with the date on them to the crowds along the parade route....
