Well, the weather is one thing we can talk about but also one thing we can do nothing about. There has been very little change in out weather except it is a little hotter on some days and is still very dry.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Connie Bonner, L C Bowen, Kathleen Carroll, Madison Chappell, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Bailey Cromwell, Buffy Farnsworth, Wilburn Franks, Calvin Harris, Labri Kendricks, Martha Hensley, Lyda Mae Hooper, Shirley Howe, Monette King, Bruce Ligon, Colben Ly, Raquel Mallari, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Brittany Mash, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Mike McCann, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Betty Odom, Pam Pullman, Colene Rasbury, Hattie Roberts, Mona Runions, Bill Seiber, Roy Sharp, Joe Ship, Vickie Skelton, Nell Skelton, Cameron Tripp, Howard Tripp, Jim Walker, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers. Remember also in your prayers in areas where there are wars and daily fear for themselves and their families and the soldiers that are stationed there.

We wish a happy birthday Rhonda Turner and Karen Holt the 29th, Audrey Reeves the 30th, Abbey McDonald the 31st, Arianna Grinder, Lynn Carroll, and Parker Carroll on August 1st, Cameron Troutman the 3rd, and Tom Hornal the 5th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.

Timothy Eastep celebrated his birthday on Saturday evening with a meal of hamburgers and all the trimmings and cheesecake with toppings of either blueberry or cherry, a lemon bar dessert and angel food cake dessert with cherry and pudding with cool whip. Wishing for him many more years to celebrate life. Maysi Woodham also celebrated a birthday on Friday which was Timothy’s birthday as well.

Happy anniversary to Damien and Christy Clayton and to Burt and Sara Barer on August 5th, we wish for them many more years to spend time celebrating life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week that I know of Jimmy Earl Hinson, Mozell Cowart, Mary Elizabeth Hitt, Kenneth Spencer Walker, Timothy John Krueger Sr., Jack Larkin Lawson, and Terry Anderson. Prayers for all these families and any others about which we may not know.

After this week most of the children will be back in school and beginning another year of studies, hopefully they will realize that this is the best time of their life; a change to learn and develop friendships that will carry throughout life. Sometimes we forget to thing on this as it is hard sometimes to learn what is expected of us but life is a constant teacher and we learn something every day, if not we are not applying ourselves.

The Lewis County Historical Society will be having a meeting and picnic later in August, will post date and time later. Thanks to all those who are interested in our heritage and help with the setting up of meetings.

Prayers for you and your family to have a great week and may you be blessed with health and happiness. We need to remember those who are less fortunate and visit if we can and if not remember to call or send cards to let them know that someone is thinking of them.
