Gordonsburg

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 126

With Thanksgiving behind us and practically only one month till the new year we have had many days of winter weather already and it is not something that I wish for anymore, but we may be in for a hard winter. The signs that the older people and Almac’s give to support a hard winter are very much visual this year. We have already had several days with temperatures in the teens and low twenties which is not good for the electric bill. We have also had some light showers and rain at times during the last few days.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Connie Bonner, L C Bowen, Timmy Bennett, Bobby Carroll, Dorothy Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Madison Chappell, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Robert Dickson, Jerry Edwards, Colleen Farr, Wilburn Franks, Callie Garrison, Malcolm George, Ophelia Green, Calvin Harris, Shirley Howe, Leon Hunter, Monette King, Bruce Ligon, Sherry Love, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Linda Mercer, Helen McCann, Mike McCann, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Lonnie Odom, Rocco Pierce, Pam Pullman, Hattie Roberts, Mona Runions fell and broke some bones in her foot, Russell Runions, Vera Runions, Roy Sharp, Joe Ship, Vickie Skelton, Jim Walker, Sharon White, Diane Williams, and Annette Williams. Remember these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers.

We wish a happy birthday Johnny Bennett, Kenneth Carroll and Holly Graves the 2nd, Annette Morris the 4th, Maria Tripp, Harper Bates, Katelyn Webb and Faye Holt the 5th, Lisa Kauffman the 6th, Tonya Mercer and Martha Hensley the 8th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to David and Pat Johnston, and Elvis and Ilien Hammack the 5th, and Samuel and Dee Warf the 8th, we wish for these couples many more happy years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week that I know of William Gene Medford, Jeffery Dean Kelsey, James Ricky Echols, Josephine Hauten Johnson, Author Carlton Hutchinson, Beula McCord Binkley, and Margie Marie Amacher. Prayers for all these families and any others about which we may not know.

The Lewis County/ Hohenwald Christmas parade will be this Thursday night and according to the weather people it is supposed to be cold so if you have children in the parade bundle them up good and if you are going to watch it also bundle up. There will be a twist to the parade this year as it will be going backwards to what it has always been, it will start in memorial park and proceed the route usually followed backwards. Know the children will be looking forward to it.

Prayers for you and your family and remember all those who are less fortunate and help if you can and at least say a prayer for them.

Another event coming up is the community Christmas dinner at Lomax on December 10, 2022, this is a great effort to help people in need and there will be some jackets and coats for children and others who need them, please only take one per person as others might be in need also.
