temperatures

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 154

August 3, 2023

We are still having temperatures in the mid to upper nineties and even the nights have been in the eighties. There have still been some thunderstorms around the area with some rain and no damage that I know of. With temperatures being this high be sure to stay hydrated when you have to be out and wear something on your head to help keep the sun off.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Joyce Barnes, Colene Beasley, Lois Bennett, Gertie Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Robert and Pat Dickson, Callie Garrison, Ophelia Green, Carolyn Hargrave, Betty Hasty, Wanda Holloway, Linda Hornal, Shirley Howe, Debbie Johnston, Denny King, Monette King, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Ronnie Lewis, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Carla Murphy, Beverly Sue Novogurski, Lonnie Odom, Joy Orman, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Jill Rankin, Harry Runions, Mike Runions, Russell Runions, Bill Seiber, Johnnie Faye Skelton, Terry Stutts, Jeff Tatum, Mary Ann Whitehead, Diane Williams, and Annette Williams. Remember these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers.

We wish for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to Damien and Christy Clayton and Burt and Sara Barber August 5th. We wish for these couples many more years to celebrate life together.

Know some of you like my family enjoyed the Sunday sundown movie in the lot behind the library, it was the last of events for the summer program that the library has each summer. The movie was great and on a big, big screen and it was not hard to see or hear it. I know the children and others there enjoyed it. There were food items for sale which benefited the library expansion collection. If you would like to help with this, you can make donations at the library. This expansion will allow the library to have more room to keep the many history documents that at this time there is no place to store. The friends of the library do a lot of work to help with this endeavor.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about Lora Gayle Meadows, Christine Capps Homan, and Leonard Whaler Nokes. Prayers for these families and any others about which we may not know.

School will be starting next week so be careful when you are around the areas where children are traveling to and from school. Like I have said before some are excited, and some are not anxious about it.

Prayers for you and your family to have a great week and that you may enjoy good health and be happy. Remember those who are less fortunate and take time to visit if you can or call or maybe send a card to let them know you care.
