The weather continues to be hot and somewhat dry with temperatures in the upper eighties and into the nineties sometimes. There have been heat warnings given by the weather stations so if you must be out a lot be safe and be sure to stay hydrated. This weather is a little hard on those of us who have breathing problems, most of you know I have had the asthma since about seven years of age and the past week or so it has been giving me some problems, I know it is from being out when the yards are being mowed and the air is so full of pollen; but it is better and hopefully will stay that way. I know this is true for all who have these problems so praying for you.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Joyce Barnes, Colene Beasley, Lois Bennett, Gertie Carroll, Spencer Clark, Robert and Pat Dickson, Callie Garrison, Ophelia Green, Carolyn Hargrave, Betty Hasty, Darrell Hinson, Wanda Holloway, Linda Hornal, Shirley Howe, Debbie Johnston, Florine Johnston, Denny King, Monette King, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Ronnie Lewis, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Carla Murphy, Beverly Sue Novogurski, Lonnie Odom, Joy Orman, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Jill Rankin, Harry Runions, Mike Runions, Russell Runions, Bill Seiber, Johnnie Faye Skelton, Terry Stutts, Jeff Tatum, Mary Ann Whitehead, Diane Williams, and Annette Williams. Remember these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers.

We wish a happy birthday to Debbie Pierce the 25th, Bethany Sims, Luke Roberston, and Kinley Pace the 26th, John Tyler Claxton and Jaci Lynn Duncan the 27th, Jennifer Tiller the 28th, Amy Carroll, Faye Johnston, Emily Brake and Macy Lomax the 29th, Eve3lyn Seiber and Landree Darroll the 30th, and Payton Staggs, Brenda Fergerson, Timmy Caroll, and Blake Webb the 31st. We wish for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to Kenneth and Pat Carroll August 28th, may they have many more happy years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about Helen McClain, Robert Kenneth Jones, Livingston, Cindy Jo Porter, and Jo Ann Bates Pruitt. Prayers for these families and any others about which we may not know.

The Lewis County Historical Society will not meet in September since the first Monday is Labor Day. Watch for future announcements about upcoming meetings. If you missed the meeting at Meriwether Lewis Park, wish you could have been there it was a great meeting and a time to honor Captain Lewis on his birthday and also a time to say goodbye to Jeremy Childs the Park Ranger who has done such wonderful works with the Natchez Trace since he has been here. We will miss him and his family. We wish them great blessings and safety in their new adventures in life.

Wishing for you and your families a great week and hopefully you will have a safe and healthy week and enjoy your family.
