State Grant Pays

An infrastructure grant from the Tennessee Department of Health recently funded the professional cleaning of the outside facade of the Lewis County Health Department, as well as the entire county-owned War Memorial Building.

"TRL Soft Pressure Washing won the competitive bid, and they did an excellent job cleaning this facility," stated Lewis County Mayor Jonah Keltner. "I appreciate Sarah Russell, Houston Hamblin, Derek Powers, Ty Seiver and everyone else who was involved in making this a successful project."

The remaining funds from the $128,480 state grant awarded to Lewis County Government will be used to make improvements inside the Health Department, including new furnishings throughout the facility, new casework in the nurse's station and clerical area, and expanding the waiting room and the children's play area.

The Lewis County Health Department is located at 51 Smith Avenue, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The office number is (931) 796-2204.
