Have you tried eating more high enzyme foods? Local raw honey is a great example. Healthy people have included such foods in their diet for thousands of years.

PRINCIPLE 8 OF GOOD NUTRITION: Use unrefined salt

What is unrefined salt? It is salt that is about 80% sodium chloride, and still contains the many minerals that occur naturally and that you need for vibrant health. Typical white table salt has been processed to remove the minerals for more profitable purposes, and you are buying the waste product. It is 98% sodium chloride, with added iodine, and aluminum to make it pour more easily.

Salt is critical for many biological functions. It is needed for hormone balance, for the brain and nervous system, digestion, to regulate body fluids and electrolytes, and for feeling satisfied after a meal.

But what about blood pressure? Lowering refined salt may be helpful in 10% of those with high blood pressure. Many people with high blood pressure are actually helped by using unrefined salt. Good sources include Celtic sea salt, Baja Gold salt, and many others. The key is that they have a high mineral content, not just look colorful.

This is another reason to avoid processed foods that contain lots of refined salt and sugar. Eat fresh, whole foods and add your own good salt. About 1-2 teaspoons are needed daily.
