Pilot Club Bicycle Rodeo

Pilot Club of Hohenwald, in partnership with Lewis County Schools, will hold a bike rodeo for children (ages 5-14) on May 11th at Lewis County Middle School at 9 a,m, – 11 a.m. to educate students on bike safety as well as helping students learn biking skills. The event features stations that include: bike and helmet fit, start and stop skills, scanning, how to ride safely in the street and sidewalks, etc. All participants will have a chance to learn, practice, and demonstrate their bicycle handling skills in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. Bring a bicycle and a helmet! Students without helmets will have opportunity to receive a free helmet while supplies last.

Participants will need to register for the event by talking to their teachers at Lewis County Elementary and/or Intermediate Schools. There have already been over 60 students who have registered!

Those individuals and/or businesses interested in volunteering at the bike rodeo, especially high school students interested in satisfying part of their community service graduation requirement, should contact Lindsey Wayland at 931-628-9263 to learn more. Upon completing the bicycle rodeo events, participants will receive certificates and be entered into a drawing to win various prizes.

This event is being funded through the Pilot International Founders Fund Matching Grant as well as funds from the Pilot Club of Hohenwald.
