April declared "Confederate History and Heritage Month" for Hohenwald/Lewis County

On Friday, March 23, 2022, City Mayor Danny McKnight and County Mayor Jonah Keltner signed a proclamation which officially constituted April as Confederate History and Heritage Month.

The proclamation read, "April is the month in which the people of the Confederate States of America began and ended a four-year heroic struggle for states' rights, individual freedom, local government control and a determined effort for deeply held beliefs.
