Still having cool nights and warm to hot days so I guess spring is finally here. Before we know it summer will arrive and with it hot days and hot nights. Hopefully you are enjoying the beauty of the spring weather and the pretty trees and shrubs that are blooming everywhere around the area.

Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: Burt Barber, David and Joyce Barnes, G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, Amy Carroll, Debbie Carroll, David Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Stephen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Billy Cothran, Johnny Dryden, Polly Edwards, Larry Evans, Buffy Farnsworth, Teresa Garland, Helen Hardin, Christy Hinson Graves, Mickey James, Faye Kilpatrick, Monet King, Jerry McCann, Jackie McFall, Shirley Reeves, Mona Runions, Nell Skelton, Donnie Teefataller, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, and Annette Williams. There is still much sickness in our land so please remember all those you know of in your daily prayers and pray for the healing of our nation.

Happy birthday to Nancy Tucker the 19th, Tyler Seiber the 25th, James Bradford and Tina Brewer the 27th, and Earl Green, Dameron Mercer, Zander Beasley, Wylie Staggs and Brayden Morris the 29th. Wishing for these many more happy days to celebrate life and hope they have a great birthday.

We express sympathy to the family of William Lafate Leegan, Allen Clay Branum, Willard Dean Davis, Wesley Reed Runions, Delmer Easley, Tia Maria Lynn Potts, Jeffery Dwayne Herbison, David Harold Sanders, Debra Joann Ward, Betty Sue Massow, Jerry Wane Cagle, and Dellie Earline Warren. Prayers for these families and any other families that have lost loved ones.

Some of the girl scouts in the Daisy and Brownie troops enjoyed a trip to the home of Tom and Renee DeHart for a lesson in the care of chickens and gathering eggs and the cleaning of them after they are gathered. They had a great time and enjoyed the swinging tree house that moves as you walk on the platform.

Children are looking forward to the end of the school year and a time when they can be outside more. Many are counting the time when they can get in the creeks and pools for a little cool refreshing dip in the water and playing water games. Many of the creeks in our area stay cold most of the time and only get warm in places where it is shallow and in the sunshine, but that doesn’t keep people from swimming and playing in them. I used to love that too but now not so much, although I still like to walk in the shallow areas.

As the days get warmer, plan to be outside some and soak up some sunshine which gives us lots of Vitamin D which helps our bodies. It also helps the well-being of the mind to enjoy the beauties that God has created for us to enjoy all around us. I love to go out in the morning and hear the turkeys call as they leave the roost and even occasionally at night hear the coyotes, which is nice as long as there are not too many around the area. I think lately there are not as many because I see a rabbit cross the road sometimes and when the predators are plentiful you don’t see the rabbits.
