Gordonsburg/ Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 58

It can still be said that in Tennessee you can observe all seasons of weather in just one day or at least one week. The temperatures lately have been in the upper eighties or even low nineties during the day but nights found a few that were in the fifties. Tennessee is still a great place to live and enjoy the beauties of nature all around with the forest and waterways in the area and so many different types of vegetation around the area. We are blessed with many herbs that grow wild in the area.

Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, L.C. Bowen, Amy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Bailey Cromwell, Johnny Dryden, Larry Evans, Buffy Farnsworth, Helen Hardin, Christy Hinson, Wayne Holloway, Mickey James, Faye Kilpatrick, Monet King, Colben Ly, Jackie McFall, Earl Rasbury, Shirley Reeves, Mona Runions, Boyce Sims, Nell Skelton, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, Annette Williams and Selina Young. Please remember all the sick in our area in your private prayers and pray for the healing of our nation each week.

Happy birthday to Shannon Collins July 2nd, Shonda Carroll the 5th, and Kim Atkinson the 8th; wishing for these many more happy days to celebrate life and hope they have a great birthday.

Happy anniversary to Jason and Dana Sims July 5th, and Glen and Carol Hinson the 7th, we wish for these couples many more years to celebrate life together.

We express sympathy to the families of James “Jimmy” Wayne Baxter, Donald Ray Talley, James Edward Wills, Jane Quillen Lawson, Russell “Joe” Josiah Curtis, Dorothy Lee Scates, Raleigh Lee Goodman, Lynda Joyce Baker, Clarence Wilson “CW” Tarkington, Hattie James Peery, Elizabeth Dianne Sanders, and Annie Lorene Tinin. Prayers for these families and any other families that have lost loved ones.

I want to take this time to wish everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July and hope that whatever you do, be safe and remember all those who fought and died to give us the freedoms that we have in this great nation. Please be careful with fireworks if you use them especially around children and watch them closely. Accidents can happen very fast and be severe. Hopefully you will be able to be with family as you celebrate. Times with family are very precious and memories are made that can never be taken away.

For those who have shared the bounty of your garden I really appreciate it and thanks to you. It is dry in the area and we could use some rain but I guess it will come soon and the gardens will continue to survive and produce. I saw a kadydid the other day so guess that says that fall is on the way.

Praying for you to have a great week and remember the holiday weekend coming up and take time to honor our wonderful nation as we are blessed to live in such a great place in this world. Be safe and enjoy your life and family.
