Well it is a cool spring morning here in our little valley, the sun is shining across the front porch but it was a little too cool to take my coffee and sit in the swing, but much warmer days are on the way. The cats were really hungry this morning and it was cool so they got a little bowl of warm milk with their breakfast, one of them was not here for breakfast so I went looking for her and the other cats came with me, we found her watching a squirrel up in a tree, we told her that breakfast was ready and she came running. Well it has been a...

  • Self-Acceptance and Exercise

    May 12, 2022

Many of us, who have been working to iprove our health and fitness, know better than to compare ourselves to others or engage in self-criticism while we’re exercising or anytime. This feeling could still happen and it can crush our self-esteem and really become a “physical downer.” So what can we do when this “inner critic” shows up, while we’re taking a nice walk in public or in our Senior Fitness Class? If we listen and believe this “inner critic” it can sabotage our efforts. Keep your mind on your movements and focus on your intentions! If...

  • Tyrades! Care for some stolen random thoughts?

    Danny Tyree|May 12, 2022

Honest, I’m going to write a book chockful of random thoughts someday (my more serious book about religion is already available on Amazon), but deadline pressures keep forcing me to cannibalize my ideas for this column instead. For instance, do you get confused by the (microscopic and/or smeared) “sell by” and “best if used by” labels on products? “Best if used by November 2022.” “Best if used by July 2023.” Considering the sodium and sugar content in most of the products, maybe the labels...
