  • Lewis County Recipes: Coconut Pound Cake

    Melissa Wickline|Jun 3, 2021

Summer spells all things delicious. The vegetables are coming in from the garden, and the fruit is ripe for the picking. I enjoy the flavors this time of year, and there is no limit to what one can create given the bounty of the season. This cake is a tropical, tender-crumbed loaf, with amazing flavor. I saw some squirrels getting them some apples that had fallen on the ground from the high wind we had. Well everything to me seems to be a little different, maybe it i...

  • Gordonsburg/ Little Swan News

    Dorothy Warf|Jun 3, 2021

I guess you could say ol’ man winter has come once again to remind us that summer is not here. The temperatures dipped into the thirties for a couple of nights and in the forties for several nights in the area but the days, except for one or two, were nice with temperatures getting into the seventies. With the arrival of June maybe we will have some warmer temperatures even at night and I know that once it gets hot day and night we will complain that it is too hot, that is human nature-to complain. Those who are sick or shut-in and in need o...

  • Tyrades! What Was Your Favorite Summer Job?

    Jun 3, 2021

With the school year ending and the economy slowly reopening, let’s reminisce about the illustrious history of summer jobs.
